The Maths Reasoning Challenge
A high-challenge quantitative reasoning paper in which students interpret information, choose efficient methods, solve non-routine problems under time pressure, and identify the strongest answer from carefully designed alternatives.
The Abstract Reasoning Challenge
A high-challenge non-verbal reasoning paper in which students use pattern recognition, visual logic, and structured reasoning to identify the correct answer from carefully designed alternatives, with minimal language demand.
The Sustainable Design Challenge
A high-challenge spatial reasoning event in which students respond to a real-world brief by planning and presenting a practical, well-structured design solution within defined constraints.
The Linguistics Challenge
A language-reasoning paper. Students work out the patterns, rules and meanings of languages they have never seen, from the evidence in front of them, alongside the key ideas of the season theme. No prior knowledge of any language is needed.
The STEM Innovation Pitch
A high-challenge cross-subject team event in which students analyse a real-world problem, develop a practical and original solution within defined constraints, and deliver a clear, persuasive pitch supported by reasoning and evidence.
Team Orienteering Challenge
A team trail of station puzzles around the host campus. Each team works in its own zone, chooses which stations to attempt and in what order, and returns to the theatre, where every answer is gone through on stage.
